WAXOYL removal

Whats the best way or what can i use to remove 30 year old waxoyl ?

If it was me, I think i would try a heat gun and some blue roll to soften it and wipe it off, then try something like wd40, petrol, brake cleaner or thinners to remove the rest. Be aware of damaging paint with chemicals and setting fire to stuff

Where is the waxoyl and why do you want to remove it?

It was done in 79 its in the engine bay on the sills ( outer ) in most places. Rear valence ( outer ) Front valence ( outer ) . I have got it off the places i need to weld . Its done its job

I used one of these on my angle grinder which worked well.

Cellulose thinners will take it off no probs and pretty quickly.

If you need to weld, the waxoyl obviously hasn't done it's job ;D

I found a disc cutter works well to remove it. Soon sets fire to it, rapidly folllowed by 2 more cars in the scrapyard. Ooops!

May be a toffee wheel will shift it quick? Does well with glue residue
