How difficult and complicated is it to change the gears in the 020 box from a 'rocco?

The thing is I'm probably going to be using a std 020 box from an 8v on my white project when I eventually get it done and read somewhere that a diff bolt kit is advisable to handle the extra power going through it. So if I'm going to do that how much extra work would be involved in changing the ratios a bit, probably just a longer 5th.

you need a press and a pull, i got told a 20ton one will just do it :shocking:
one of my synchros went and i was gonna fix it my self till i found that out,
is it carb or injected ? injected boxes are almost like gti ones, in terms of ratios.
carb ones are a bit crap. im now running one out a mk2 gti, it goes a lot better

Seeing anything VW is immensely expensive and 99% of the time not available in Oz, :dash:

I managed to procure the services of Brian at

http://www.brokevw.com/

great website with tips the manuals dont tell you about and a very helpful fella all round. :read:

Prices i bought the parts from him for were 10% of what VW quoted me here..included postage from the US to Australia. :buddy:
