1992 Red Scala back where it belongs but much to do

Afternoon all

As soon as I sold my Scala 6 years ago I instantly regretted it , the old bloke I bought it from had spent a fortune on it.

Needless to say the person who I sold it to didnt lavish it with the attention it deserved, so when I got back for a bargain price I was over the moon.

Finally it got through its MOT its been taxed and I have been out in it this week which was great however now the dust has settled I realise I have a fair amount to do so I would like your help please.

List of jobs to do

It appears to have had the rear speakers removed and the front ones sound dreadfull - Any tips

The parcel shelf has no retaining clips on the pivot point so as soon as the boot opens the shelf falls in - Rocking horse to get hold of?

When I sold the car it had a full stainless steel exhaust with lovely twin pipes, it now has a boggo exhaust that looks awful and is blowing like mad from the front , any suggestions that arent to loud but sound nice.

Also the tilt sunroof has been siliconed shut and doesnt move at all, has anyone attacked one of these before?

Your help would be massively appreciated

Warren

Welcome back into the fold.
Speakers, Alpine make some nice 6x4's, these fit straight in and the cover go back on, about £30 a pair.
Exhaust, Jetex do a couple of types, around £230.
Parcel shelf clips, put a wanted ad on here, now obsolete from the dealers. Or you could try making something to prevent the shelf dropping.

Sunroof, any idea why it was sealed up? Is it a factory fit or aftermarket glass one?

Where are you based, there are always people on here willing to help?

Hi thanks for the reply I will look into them.

Are the speakers the same recommendation for replacing the front ones?

Its a factory sunroof I have no idea why sealed, I am sure I will when I remove the silicone ha ha

Based over on the east coast in Grimsby if anyone could help that would be great.

Cant wait to get the car out and about

Cheers

Speakers, same for front and back, they do lack bass but for the size they are not bad I fitted a sub and amp in the boot to help out with a bit more bass.

They are the one's, I haven't had a problem with the bass, mind I am getting on a bit! Have these in both my cars and that is a good price!

Take a picture when you get the roof open mate, some of the parts are still available new from VW Classic parts.

Thanks for the help guys, speakers ordered.

As soon as I get a good cover for the car I will get that silicone off and see if I can get the sunroof open and see what needs to be done.

I will get a few pictures on of it over the weekend, after giving it a good clean, the lad who has owned it inbetween was a heavy smoker so the inside is pretty rancid.

Great to get back on the road in it , the guys at my tennis club loved it , not many cars draw a crowd like a Scirocco ( to be fair some of the younger lads thought it was a red Delorean tut tut )
