Coil Issues - Connections? 1.6 GT

OK guys, last week the car cut out with no spark. I have changed the dizzy, coil and ignition amp and still no spark. Plugs and leads are 3 weeks old.

I suspect it to be the coil as I have a Facet Fuel Pump that gets a relayed power from the coil, however this now does not work - but does when connected direct to the battery.

On the coil I have a two pin plug one side and a single spade the other. Is this correct? If so, I'm guessing one of the wires going to the coil is damaged in some way.

Thanks for any help you can share.

I'm not 100% sure if this will help but when I was replacing my points to electric ignition I found some info about coils I did not know, with the VW coils they are ballast coils, they work at a lower voltage when the car is running but at full votage when the starter motor is turning over to aid starting.

Info from the web
"With a non-ballast coil, power is applied to the coil directly from the ignition switch, via a wire. Power to the ballast coil comes from the ignition switch to the resistance wire, and then to the coil."

Check your connections to the coil are clean. Have you checked the earth strap between cylinder head and fire wall?
Also check your ht leads.
My king lead went down once and thus head no spark after the distributor.
Failing that there is a proceedure in the Haynes manual that tells you how to diagnose what is wrong.
This helped me when my distributor innards gave up.
