Hi all.
Ordered some bilstein shocks off eBay the other day, listed to fit scirocco up to 1992 (mines a 1991)
Arrived today and the fronts don't look right :/
Should they look like this and if so where can I get the bit to attach it to the hub and the big cup the spring sits in??
Cheers

they're shock inserts. remove the inserts that are currently in your front struts and replace with these

Change your top mounts while you are at it!

If like me you don't have a vice losen the big nut which holds the shock insert in the strut when its on the car, if you jack the car up you can just about get some big stilsons in there.
When putting the new shocks in add some antifreeze in the strut, I think the Haynes manual will tell you how much to pour in.
Sorry if you know all this, granny sucking eggs and all that...
You might get a new nut like I did as seen in the picture.

Or alternatively, if you have access to a windy gun and you're a bit mad, take the strut off, aim the bottom end of it where it can't damage anything, put your boot on the spring and windy gun the nut off
whilst I have used this method myself without accident or injury, I accept no responsibility if you break stuff or injure yourself. They don't go anywhere near as far as you would think
