Hi there I was wondering if the bottom bit of the dash with the gear hater and big cubby hole will the golf one fit with the vdo gauge mounts on I hope people no what I mean lol

Depends how you define "fit" I suppose! Probably easier to make a panel to fit

Well I didn't want to make one lol when I say fit I mean take the rocco one out and golf in are they the same part but one with gauge holder and rocco with out

A quick and easy fix to allow up to 3 VDO gauges, is to use a VW radio blanking plate and drill out the holes for the gauges. This plate can be fitted where the ashtray and gauge blanking plate are located.

A few people have done this already.

I am pretty sure I have a VW blanking plate in my garage full of parts!

Ye I'm sure someone on here has done it and taken photos as they go.

If not then there is definitely an faq on the net on a random site I cam across while googliing.

I'll see if I can find it again.

Fitting instructions for guages where the ashtry is-

I'm currently looking at using a guage pod from a mk1 drop top and fittinf it under the radio, same position as Mr Funks, will post up a pic over the weekend as I;m looking at mocking it up :)
