Where are you guys buying inserts?

Front shocks are mullered. I've got some FEBI top mounts, but the inserts I can get are either rather expensive gas items, or cheap oil filled that I suspect are for a smaller/lighter car.
My fronts got an advisory on "misting" oil. I don't think they've any left!, and I'm getting a clonk over bumps now :(, as well as crashing bottoming out and being blow around.
Making the car a real pig tbh, so I'm keen to get it sorted stat.

Try here as well.

GSF did sell them last year, I got some Boge gas ones but you have to phone them or go into the shop to check which ones they have.
Mixed reviews on the Boge and now long they last etc... I've had my last set for 10 years before they need replacing and brought another set, I'll look for the part number when I get home.

The FK inserts I have are used with -40mm springs so TBH not sure. Think they should be standard as standard dampers can be used with th -40mm springs.
Again in Mark's link you'll see the BOGE inserts if you search for Mk1 Golf parts. Don't seem to be listed for Scirocco. Good company for parts also.

If you do a search for Bilstein B4 inserts, these can be used with lowered springs up to a 30mm drop.
I recently fitted these with Eibach springs, good combo.
You should be looking at around £35 a shock.

Worth replacing the bump stops and dust covers and the spacer sleeve as it all has to come apart to change the shock. There is 2 types so check which ones you have. They sell them from the link I've already posted.

Whereabouts?! The cheapest I've found them online is eBay but they want nearly 50 sheets per shock?
