Re: exhaust maifold nuts
If its just that the nut has seized then cut it off and put a new one on.
You can buy Dremels for about £30, and they cut through nicely and are handy tools to have as they get into awkaward places.

You could take the nut off and fit a new one, from memory they are only pence each.Mrgarf wrote:Sorry to hijack this , what's the best course of action if the a bolt won't tighten and is causing a leak?

Re: exhaust maifold nuts
I think I've found the VW part number 175129650 hexagon nut, self-locking M8. Taken from vagcat.com
I searched the part number and found this there is some other sites listed aswell.
http://www.justkampers.com/175-129-650- ... d-t25.html
They are copper not brass!..
And found some on ebay..http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/M8-8mm-copper ... 3f2843ff32
