Wheels and coilovers sorted. Just need to decide whether to keep the dx lump or do an engine conversion.

If you're going to bugger around with it, please find a less original car!

Any work done will be without making any non reversible mods just as I have done with the golf.

I totally agree. You've got a very special car there and talking about engine swaps etc doesn't make it easily reversible.

As Ed says, if you want to modify a Scirocco, sell this one and find one not so original.

We're not all total purists here, I'd love to get hold of another mint Helios gtx of this standard but it would get some coilovers and a decent set of rims on it within a week!

Good luck!

First of all welcome, car sounds like a cracker, eagerly await more pics. And don't be shy with the pics of your Golf too. I miss mine :crying:

And as GTXTRA says, we are not all purists on here. What wheels are you thinking?

Engine conversion is totally reversible guys. It's a car to keep. The conversion on my golf had been done without a single wire being cut. For the very reason that there aren't many sub 50k mk2's about. So when the fancy takes me I can return it to bone stock. At the present time I'm enjoying driving it whenever I feel like it without having to worry about old k jet systems etc. 250bhp is fun as well.

Ha, I see you've ignited the 'tweak vs keep' debate. I'm with the guys that say keep it standard, but it is your car and you sound like you're not some heavy-handed botch merchant, so good luck to you.

As a point of interest, does 250 bhp in a scirocco not make the thing understeer like mad, like those insane Polo G40s?
