alloy refurb

just a heads up on an alloy refurb that costs very little if you like diy.
if you can remember a set of avus alloys appeared on here in the for sale section that wernt in the best nick but were cheap.
so i had a go at refurbing them on the cheap.
first the wheels as i got them

after some hefty wacking with a hammer and adding some chemical putty stuff to the worst areas and flatting back.
i picked up some hammerite black stonechip paint and gave them a coat as it was on offer for 5 quid.

i was quite happy with the result,
but i should have spent more time rubbing down in some areas as you can see theres some crap bits.

Nice job and, at a fiver for 4, cheaper than a professional re-furb!! You must be well pleased.

yeah really good outcome.
was going to use them for winter wheels.
just need to speed up a bit and do the other two now.
