Been a long time since i've posted but my car has spent the vast majority of the last 3 years laid up only coming out very occasionally. 150 miles in 3 years

Anyway, my mild steel 4-1 manifold has rusted through after at least 10 years on the car and cannot be welded so i need a new one

I cannot recall who made the existing one, but i do recall that i snapped several stainless Supersprints prior to fitting this one and a large flexjoint to take up some of the engine movement

All my mounts are good and the rear one is a heavy duty

I've had a good look round and found the Supersprint 4-2-1 stainless which now has a flexi joint, and the Ashley mild steel 4-1

are there any other options/manufacturers/custom makers in the SE? (the car cannot travel as it has no exhaust from the collector backwards) that anyone has experience of?

Is anyone running the Supersprint without it snapping? Are there any clearance issues?

Is anyone running the Ashley? Any clearance issues. Does this need a flexi joint to stop it snapping?

Car is 91 Scala 8v

Only advice I can give is regarding mine but keep in mind that it was custom made. I went that way as I know that some can catch and are made from crepe so they fall apart. Got it done by a local company (in Ashford) and has a lifetime warranty.

I had an Ashley fitted to my GTX for 6 years with no issues. Considering it was mild steel and it was cheap in comparison. Nice sound when coupled to a 2.5" Jetex. Was a bit tight under there but once lined up all good.

Really cant complain about the ashley im running on the 16v. Total bargain.

Those of you running Ashleys - do you have flexijoints on them as well?

No, I never did.

The only issue was the closeness to the steering rack gator. Before you fit the manifold, wrap the gator in loads of silver foil to protect it from the heat.

My system was that solid that your could hang off it when it was the lift for the mot lol.

In the end i went for a Supersprint with a custom link piece and MOT was dutifully secured yesterday. Of course now the rain will come.....
