Alternative Clutch for 1990 Mk.2 Scirocco
Afternoon,
Anyone know what clutches are available for a Mk.2 Scirocco Scala on a DX Engine Code?
I have a Sachs Clutch in at the moment, but looking for any alternatives as I'm changing the gearbox from a 020 5 Speed AUG to a 020 4+E ATH.
Demon Tweeks listed I think 7 Clutches, which said Call for Price......yet, they don't stock any of the ones they listed????
So that was a complete waste of time calling them?
Anyone know of any others or am i limited to VW & Sachs?
Cheers all,

i would be very reluctant to put a racing clutch in a rocko just on the basis that the baulkhead is going to be even more likely to pull through if you havent allready beefed it up.

actually thinking about it, im currently taking an abf lump apart and what would sop you putting an o2a gearbox on a 1.8 dx engine and utilising the bigger hyraulic clutch setup?
and you cpuld have cable operated gear shift

Re: Alternative Clutch for 1990 Mk.2 Scirocco
Thanks,
Never had a problem with the bulhead but have got bulkhead support bracket to go in, so that will help.
Gonna look at Black Diamond, Luk and Helix.
Going from 150BHP to around 200BHP+ in bursts
but I don't think the Sachs Clutch will be up to it, so if I'm changing from the 5 Speed to the 4+E, I might as well change the Sachs clutch I've got in there to something a bit more beefy.
Cheers

Never had a problem with the bulkhead?! You must be the only one, or has yours led a really sheltered life? :)

No, I've never needed to reinforce the bulkhead either.

Well it does lead sheltered life now, but it's done 168,000 so far without any problems with the cable pulling through :)
Re: Alternative Clutch for 1990 Mk.2 Scirocco
id go for a clutch that will be up to your plans(as in uprated sachs something like that), reinforced bulk heads not heard of that before?
