My Storm

Collected my Storm last night from the small bodyshop that a mate of mine runs. It was in to get the rear arches repaired as they were not the best, a case of what you can't see! Anyway I decided to get them done.

While it was there I asked my mate to respray the bonnet as well as it was stonechipped quite a bit, my only concern was that the under bonnet soundproofing stayed intact as it was only fitted last year and now unavailable!

I am well happy with the job, the bonnet looks fantastic and the arches have been done to a very high standard and all for £500, which is a good deal considering the amount of work involved with the arches.

Meeting up with Tony later, so I will take some pictures and post them on here.

Some pictures taken today, very happy with the work done and can well recommend the lad who done it.
Thinking of putting the original headlights and orange indicators back on, thoughts?

With Tony's GL at Durham services.

Looking good Ian. I'd change the lights. It looks better with the originals.

I wanted one back in 1985 when I saw one for sale in my local VW dealers. The £9500 price tag was a little rich, so I continued to drive about in my MK1 GLi!

Yes Neil, I think I will be going back to standard lights when I am back home again.

Looking at this makes me realise how badly my storm's bonnet needs painting.

Looks awesome!

Well it has been a good week, received my agreed valuation confirmation back from HIC, MOT'd my Audi and also had the Storm MOT'd, neither car had any advisories, well chuffed and another 12 months motoring, just the Scala to MOT in July!

At home for a few days so will change the passenger side electric window motor for the 4th time in 4 years and put the original lights and amber indicators back on.

Managed a weekend home! As the weather has been nice and sunny I thought I would get the original lights back on and fit the brand new, out of the box indicators. So after a quick wash and polish the car is looking standard again!

Not sure what to do with the GTi headlights and semi clear indicators?

I haven't seen a standard brown Storm for a few years now. Really happy with the way it looks (and goes!).

Been busy today getting Bilstein B4 shocks and Eibach Pro-sport springs fitted.

All I can say is that it is fantastic combination, slightly lower than standard but as I am getting old, a softer ride than the Weitecs but still very tight around bends. Highly recommended.
