No-return valve?

Sorry guys, this is going to be a tad vague, as i can't find out what it's called even!
Standard DX engine, attached to the side of the airbox there is what vagcat descrupes as a vacuum switch (
http://www.vagcat.com/epc/cat/vw/COR/1988/13/49/179259/ - Part 40 right at the bottom)
This should lead up throug another vaccum switch, which i'm missing (part 34) dunno if this is important or not, but seems to run fine without it!
Anyway, following this on the hose connects to a plastic splitter piece that then feeds into the inlet - it's this plastic piece i'm after, it has 4 inlets on it, and arrows pointing towards the inlet manifold, so i guess its some kind of no-return valve? havn't been able to spot a part number on it, but i managed to snap one of the inlets when replacing my vacuum hoses today. typically on Vagcat it's the only thing on the entire page without a part number.
Anyone have any idea of the correct name for it, or even better the part number so i can get a new one?

Part 34 is the vacuum switch/sensor for the gear change indicator light, which you will not have on your car.
The plastic splitter you are referring to was never available separately, as it formed part of the vacuum hose connection between the inlet manifold and the brake servo.

Thanks Pete
Called VW and they discontinued the part unfortunately, and i'm having trouble finding anywhere that does them new. the closest i can find is a T2 part, but looks like it may be missing the 2 side outlets (
http://www.vwheritage.com/vw_spares_Non ... try_GB.htm)
Anyone have any idea where a new one of there could be found?

Hi,
If the part you are after comes from the inlet manifold to the servo, it was discontinued over 10 years ago.
I maybe able to locate 1 for you, but this depends on if my brother still has the 1 i gave him a few years ago.

If you can locate it here I maybe have a new one lying in my garage.

Let me know.

Hi guys, sorry for the slow response, gearbox issues distracted me!
Looks like it's this part in the 3rd picture - 172611931C
New part would be great if you have one Joost, but failing that any other one i can get that works would be great!

Hi,
I totally forgot that you are driving on the wrong side of the road.
I have a complete and new vacuum hose with part number 531611931A and I have a new valve with part number 171 611 933.
The valve is €.10- incl P+P
The hose will be a bit trickier because it will not fit into an bubblewrap so easy but could take of the valve and then it would be €.15- incl.P+P.
Let me know what you want.

Thanks Joost, i'll have a look tomorrow morning and see which one i need, fairly sure its the top one with the extra valve.
Regarding the LHD/RHD thing, do these parts only work a certain way up, or is it just a different hose length for the servo that makes the difference?

The difference is sometimes hard to find out but looking at the partnumber you can see it.
We use 171 for instance and your numeber will then be 172 so that is how we see it is LHD or RHD.
I think you need the bottom one becauce the top one has an extra hose connection on it opposite of the two small ones.
But you take a good look and I will hear from you.

Surely as the Brake Servo is on the same side of the car, it should fit whether the car is LHD or RHD.

That is what I thought as well, but it realy says LHD or RHD on ETKA as well.
Do not know wht the difference would be, does not matter either because bothe are obsolete.
