Hello all
So ive just been sat out in the cold waiting for green flag to start my car (dispite only being 5 mins from home!)
So I drive to tesco...all good...do some shopping get in car starts fine....pulling away she dies...completley!
It was almost like the battery had lost complete power and the starter motor wouldnt really turn over.
A week ago or so the same thing happened (at home) ...I thought "flat battery"...however when I put my charger on it indicated a full battery. She then started without complaint and not needing to be charged.
Earths are all good...just wondering where I should start investigating?
After blipping the throttle this evening to clear the batery light the alt was pumping out nearly 14v
Ta!

Hi Ian
Its at least 3+3/4 years old...why would that affect the starting issue?
All other electrics (apart from plugs) are at least this old....many much much older no doubt!
cheers

The battery may be past its best and its ability to hold a charge high enough to crank the engine over, what with the cold weather.

£60! You can get a decent Bosch battery from GSF or Euro Car parts for a lot less than that mate.

£54? Just looked at ECP site and a Bosch S3 063 battery is £41 and coppers and an Exide is 2 quid less, both right for your car.
