No longer available, even from VW Classic parts in Germany!

However, a quick search on Google! http://autopartmaster.com/en/

Part numbers are 533 837 473 and 533 837 474

Never used them before so this is not a recommendation.

When I spoke to VW Heritage last year about the scrappers, they said if they get enough email enquires then they can approach VW Classic parts in Germany and see about getting some more made. I bought some from them in 2009 for my Storm, cost £51 a set but not available over the counter any longer so fire some emails off!

Classic parts has no intention of having these made again, just not enogh to start up production.

I have informed about 5 times along with a lot of German drivers.

I have now started a attempt to have them made over here in The Netherlands (same as with raintrays).

Mold is being made as we speak and will be expecting samples soon.

Only step then is to testfit them and then find a company who will put the 'pussyskin' on as the firm who does the rubberwork is not able to do this.

Had a first price sent but that exceeded the €.50,00 a piece mark so that is a no go.

I do want to keep the price under that amount for one side.

As soon I know more I will et you all know.

That is what the companies over here call it.

In fact the companies that do it call it Flocken.

So make your pick, as long people understand it's ok.

I do hope this is going to work out someway because I know everybody has this problem.

But the price has to stay reasonable.

I have found one company that can produce it, and is now going to make a sample for me of about 4 lengths.
The only difference will be that the metal/aluminium strip will no longer be in there so if it does not stay on enough by the clips a little adheasive may be needed, but then, you do not change it every week so that should not be a problem I think.

I am then going to check fitting, quality and so on, then find a company who can do the 'felt' and all of this for a nice price, I do want to keep it around €.35,00 per side because that is what I would pay for a scraper.

The placing of the 'felt' seems to be quite a filthy job and is bound by a lot of health and enviromental rules.

When I know more I will let it know on here.

Hi Jason,

I have no idea yet.

First ones for trial are now being made and then find a company who does the "felt" on it.

If the prices of producing, flocken, packaging , shipping and my cut :P worked out I will put it up here for an interest poll like with the raintrays.
