hi all ive bought my self a mk2 GTL 1.8 8v carb its only done 112k and i'm looking to sort the engine out and then start with the body work due to some mindless yobs kicking half the panels. i'll post some pics of my new pride and joy tomorrow when its light.

How're you getting on? Any progress made?

Here we go I keep forgetting to add stuff on here. Up to know i have fitted a 32/34 weber carb as well as a jetex single exit exhaust plus a stainless manifold. As for inside I'm still looking for the water leak. Ive replaced the door seal the boot seal and cleared the drain holes but still no joy. Next thing will be the wing off to have a look due tp needing to put a new one on which I found for a massive sum of 20quid. Other things I have bought are a full gti bodykit for 60 that needs fitting. Inside the car has only had new alpine speakers and a vibe black air sub. As for the colour I think vinyl wrap is a must im heading towards a glitter type just to stand out.
As I think about it I need someone local who can set my timing up and advance it due to the weber.

I hate this water leak ive had all the carpet out checked the doorseal the membrane inside the door card all around the windscreen the drain holes in the engine bay there is one last thing and thats taking the wing off and having a look for rott behind it.
