Mk1 Headlight springs

On putting my healight frames and retainers back in, i cant seem to find a way to clip on the springs for the inner headlights. For the outers i can see the hole and lug to clip onto, but the inners there just doesnt seem to be anything - feel like i'm going mad! 
Any help?
