i take it you mean the "C" clips for the exhaust manifold.

i had the same trouble recently, blood oozed from my knuckles as a result. il tell you no matter how hard you try you will not get them on without the propper tool.

if you have a friend or a friendly garage you could borrow one off that would be perfect.
there are ways of making D.I.Y ones on the internet if your that way inclined.

failing that it will be a garage job.

Finding a garage that had one was hard enough for me. There was only 1 garage in York that had one, they had lent it to someone else who had in turn lost it.

I took mine to Volksworks in Leeds and they did it for me. Much easier.

Alternatively the tool on e-bay.
