Mk1 leather into a mk2

Got myself some leather seats from a mk1 in need of some major renovation but were super cheap so couldn't resist.
I've been plying them with saddle soap and liquid leather conditioner and it's slowly bringing them back to life.
Anyway before I go any further with restoring I know the front ones should fit straight in not sure about the back ones do they fit?
Also they are currently cream coloured and pretty scratched and cracked so once they have been treated I was thinking about dyeing them dark grey. I've looked at a few sights online but can't really find any info about changing the colour of leather only restoring the original colour.
Has anyone on here had any experience doing this or point me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance

I used these people when I first got my Storm nearly 4 years ago, had the front seats done, good job and reasonbly priced. They have a branch up your way also.

As far as I know Mk1 front seats won't fit into a Mk2 - they work the other way around though.

if a mk2 seat will drop straight in to a mk1, (and it will, i've done it) then logically there shound't be any reason not to do it the other way around.
the rear seats are different though. what i did to get mk2 seats into a mk1 was skin them and swap the covers, which is do-able. i'd suggest that doing it the other way round is also do-able, although i've never tried it

But as the central front runner is a different depth on the two cars, I don't think the Mark 1 seat can be locked in position in a Mark 2.

Well finally got the seats in the car.
Thanks to everyone for the advice. So here is what I had to do to get them to fit.
For the front seats which don't just slide into a mk2. As suggested the middle runner is a different depth do mk1 ones won't fit they are too shallow. To get round this I seperated the bases and backs on both the mk1 and mk2 seats dead easy. They are just held on with a couple of clips under the plastic. I then stripped the cloth covers off the gt11 seats and the leather mk1 seats and put the leather covers on the gt11 bases and the were a perfect fit. I then attached the mk1 back to the gt11 bases and there we have it the seats fit straight in and look fantastic.
For the rears a bit more straight forward the base just fits in as is and I swapped the coverson the back fold down bit.
I now have lovely dark grey leather in my mk2 very proud as I did all the work myself.
Will get pics taken this weekend and posted
