She lives another year!

Got myself another years ticket Monday! :D

Had to move the MOT from Friday mind as had a bearing fail on Thursday on the way down south. Replaced LF bearing, balljoint and track-rod end and went in for test on Sat. THEN failed on RH balljoint, rear bearing (needed tightening) and rear brake efficiency.

Got the brakes through, but still very low power. They've recently had new slave cylinders, fully bled the system, shoes are relatively new and pinged the adjusters down so the shoes are as close to the drums as I can get them to stay. Any ideas on how I can improve this?

Cheers
Dan

I used to ping my brakes from the handbrake so much that a twitch locked them on. It pissed me off so much failing the MOT on this especially after you adjusted brakes there would then be an imbalance on the footbrake. This would mean having to get new slave cylinders. I'am a heavy breaker and always try to keep my distance from the car in front. Can you get somebody to give you a hand bleeding to ensure there bled properly. I got so pissed off replacing slave cylinders that I got them replaced with rear calipers. Expensive as you have to purchase 16v brake cables etc, never mind the rest but easier to fix and a tiny bit more stopping power.
