BBS RM012 on a MK2 ?

Evening all..

Some BBS RM012 rims are on my baydar. 15"x6.5 ET33 (4x100 natch) on 195x55x15 Dunlop Sport 2000. I'm looking for a headsup from anyone on here that has these rims fitted to their bodykitted MK11. Was it an easy fit or did you need to mod things, change the tyres etc. ?

In my case, potentially to go onto my MKII Storm with the added ingredient of lowering on Weitecs by ~40mm. Is this a recipe for disaster or joy ?!

All opining on the matter gratefully received. Any pictures of similar would be even better .. Thankings in advance ..

UPDATE: Perhaps this give me a clue

though those rims look wider than 6.5..

I run rms but they are 7.5 and 8s so with body kit think you need a little wider wheel

Niiiice. 8-)

Arches rolled I assume ?
And with, or without, the front wing inner shields ?
Lastly.. How much drop ? If that's 40mm - 50mm then it looks bang on for what I'm trying to achieve.

Thanks for the response.

Hi Dave, you'll need to change those tyres 55 series way to big.

195/45-15 will allow you to go lower but look a little lost under rear arches, 195/50 - 15 your best bet.

Big plans for the car I understand?

no arches arent rolled just stretched tyres and playing with camber, i dont have the inner wing shields in ,and its dropped more than 50mm! its on coilovers with front helpers removed and backs adjusted all the way down, hope than helps

Hey Sean, thanks loads for the tyre advice. That's much appreciated :thankyou:
I have two sets of rims to play with now. A set of Estorils on 195/50-15 and the RM012. Those need some lip polishing and then they too will go on 195/50-15 T1Rs.
It might be a case of Estorils for winter, RM's for summer. I like 'em both !

Big dreams more like. LOL. Luckily the grotto is down just the road. Gotta keep (semi)realistic though.

I had a set of BBS RS033's on my GT2... They were 8x15 all round with 185/45x15 Nankangs, and the coilies wound all the way down (3/4" travel left on the front struts!! lol).
