Ive finally recoverd my 1980 Scirrco Storm from a barn having stood there for the last 17 yrs.
The interior is still in good condtion and the panel work except one front wing seeems to be okay.
It does not run yet but my question is, would it be worth doing a full restoration or selling it on ?
Not sure of present values on this model.

Just going on my experience with roccos this year, restorations seem to sell easier than restored cars... Although a Storm with a good history would certainly be a more desirable model.
Depends what your priorites and motivations are - many here are crazy fools who like to spend lots on their cars and not get much of it back - would you like to join us ??
I can lend you a lighter to warm up those notes

If you intend to sell either way, you will not make money restoring a Scirocco of any sort.
I would imagine you might make up to £1000 for a resto project, dependent on condition (something ok with an MoT seems to cost around £1500, so anywhere between £300-£1000 for a viable restoration seems reasononable).
If it really just needed recomissioning, you'd probably be better off doing that yourself before selling (even if you're paying someone else), as a running Storm in good condition, with an MoT, will start at around £2000, rising to £4000 (maybe £5000 in exceptional circumstances).
If you like the car and want to keep it, then by all means restore it - but you will almost certainly spend more than it's likely to be worth in the near future, unless you're able to do everything to a high standard yourself. Sciroccos are yet to reach the high values of excellent mk1 Golfs, and possibly never will.
