Hey,

One job I really want to tackle is to replace my GT2's wiring as it has had a number of electrical gizmos added and removed prior to me purchasing it and so the wiring looks a bit of a mess.

First question is does anyone have a wiring diagram that can be used for a GT2 as the Haynes manual does not cover this model?

Second is that my car came with 2 amps in the back and I really want to get rid of them. it it a simple case of removing all the wiring that is connected to them and following them through the car disconnecting as I go, or is there more to it than this?

Appreciate the help guys

Andy

IIRC the Haynes doesn't specifically have a GT2 wiring diagram but the post 85 diagrams should correspond to your car which is essentially a GT with better seats. Also the revision part of the Haynes has diagrams.

I've removed poorly wired alarms from two Scirocco's and felt a bit worried about doing it initially and then once you start to trace the individual wires it was actually very easy. Can you solder? it's just if there has been Scotch lock connectors crimped on to a wire then you are best cutting and making a proper solder join to prevent corrosion/ dry joins.

The wires from a post factory install tend to stand out simply because they aren't as neatly done or colours/wire seems clearly different. Start at the amp and work back carefully. You could post pictures up if your stuck.

Both my Haynes manuals have a supplementry section for later cars and it includes wiring diagrams, it is right at the back!
