Scirocco Register

I know the early door/rear 1/4 chrome is different from the later cars. my question is are the doors different or do they have colour coded inserts to replace the black B piller cover things the later cars have. Close up pics would be great

In short can I fit early chrome to my 79?

The doors aren't different, but the chrome trim is. It goes down the back edge of the window frame, so the top and bottom pieces are angle cut at the back to meet up with the rear chrome piece. The rubber is the same, so that's good, you just need an extra bit of chrome trim, and to double check the top and bottom pieces have enough length to take the angle cut and still be long enough.
