1600gt Gearbox Conversion

Post by mclean83 »

Just got my first Scirocco, its a 1987 mk2 GT1600, more about the car under seperate thread. Anyhow, the gearbox jumps out of gear in 1sts and second and whines / grinds in all gears. I have obtained a replacement gearbox from a mk1 Golf GTI cabriolet. I was wondering if anyone knew whether this would bolt straight on or do I need any other bits? The standard gearbox is an 020 4+e. All the mountings look the same as does the shifter mechanism etc.

Cheers

Cheers ,mate, got it sorted now. I ended up having to use the gti drive shafts as well as the flanges were slightly smaller. Drives mint now
