Not Rocco but still VW

Post by shavhead »

Thought someone might be interested in my latest project.
Bought this in December - a real wreck - MOT'ed it today.

Theres quite a few pics, which is better for me, as they say, 'a picture saves a thousand words' - so find them here:

Hi, I did put many hours in -it's true 200 perhaps. One of the Sciroccos is my next project (the German 1.1 on the left)- almost finished welding now. I always feel that I have to make the most of the time in the unit, and as the building trade is slack at the moment, I have more time that I usually would. Although I have to say that I also have a '67 Beetle, '58 splitty and a mk 1 Polo on the go at the same time - Beetle nearly done though.
Will begin a build thread on the Scirocco, when I'm a bit further on. If work doesn't pick up - they'll all have to go though!

Fair play to having that many projects on the go at once. Did you paint the caddy yourself?

I will look forward to seeing the progress of your scirocco as my next project is a 75 which needs plenty of welding .

Yes - I painted the Caddy. The mk 1 is in pretty bad shape. Repairs to front panel, front inner wing bowls, front chassis leg, front scuttle, roof, cills, rear panel, rear arches, floor pans. Nearly done welding.
Your next project's a '75? TS with twin wipers? Tell me more (colour? tartan? complete car?) - I love the earlies!
The car on the right is also a '75. The car I'm doing is a '76.
