Re: abf exhaust manifold (options)
Hi Jon,
As per the PMs
your options are, as far as I know.
1. KR manifold and custom downpipe, made from a Mk2 golf top part and scirocco bottom part of downpipe. Cheapest option if you can weld, and you can tailor the length to suit the ABF
2. Ashley - will need modding to fit the ABF, will knock on the ARB, not the best quality but cheap and cheerful. £240 I think, last time I looked
3. Dubpower - Stainless, slightly better version of the ashley. Will need heating and bending to fit the ABF - £300 ish last time I looked.
4. Supersprint. Great quality and lovely bit of kit, but will need modding to fit properly (lengthening at the middle joints). About £500 once you include the link pipe.
You might be able to find something on ebay as well. There are some people out there making supersprint copies, but who knows what the quality is like. Make sure it's for a 16v!
I have 'in stock':
- A custom cut and weld job, which is on a car, made by Danster. Wasn't built for an ABF but it fits pretty well, and clears in the right places. You could have a look at it for ideas and measurements, if nothing else.
- A supersprint, which needs extensive fixing to rusty bits, and the previous owner's dodgy welding, and I plan to keep it for my track car.
- An Ashley conversion manifold, which would need to be lengthened, and probably still wouldn't fit all that well. It's still on a car I'm breaking, which I have a half share of.
