wiring for ignition barrel

Hi
Some very kind, thoughtful considerate nob'eds have crowbarred my door and taken the ignition wires out to hotwire my car.
I can't work out which wire goes back in which connection on the back of the ignition barrel
Anyone know or can point me to where I can find this out.
There's one small grey one and the rest are the same size:
one black
one red
one red&black
one yellow&black On the back of the barrel there's connectors for all of the big wires and then two little connectors so I'm not even sure where the little grey wire goes If I connect the black one to the red one the lights go on and then if I connect the red&black one to them both it starts the engine.
so the red&black must be starter and i guess black is neutral red is live.
does anyone know which sockets they go into on the back of the barrel?
and also what the wires are?
and where do I put the small grey wire?
