Mk2 Electric windows de-railing/ not factory ones?

On my recent purchase a 92 GT2 I have electric windows which look like they have been added later, the switches I believe would be found on something like a Corrado.

Anyway the motors and switches work fine and you can open the windows a certain amount before they seem to de-rail, the offside almost instantly and the drivers gets reasonably low before dropping of the rail.

What is strange (Ianaudia4 had acknowledged cheers mate) is that the rubber insert on the front guide rail doesn't go all the way down to the base of the door on the drivers door (see arrows, blue has no rubber)

The other side does (see light coloured strip of rubber)

I've read that this front rail sometimes is worth replacing on other VW's , Would the rail from a manual door work with electric windows or is this the problem? also is there anything strange about the install? I'm actually wondering if they have ever worked properly, just had another look and there is all sorts of non standard bolts and screws used? Tempted to fit manuals.

Change the rubber for the proper full length one and check the rail at the other end of the door has its rubber seal.
Also check that the glass is securely fastened to the moving slider.

Ok thanks I'll check all this out,

I'm hoping I can get what I need off the old cars doors runner wise, strip everything, clean and lubricate.

I actually think the curve of the front runner doesn't correspond with the curve of the glass or maybe not lined up properly within the door?

Will no doubt have a day of fiddling with this.
