K Jetronic issues

Hi all. Just thinking about my non starting 1984 GTX and after having checked the fuel tank and injectors (now cleaned and not leaking) i was wondering what would cause the injectors to be injecting all the time regardless of the metering vane position. Would it be a sticking plunger or a faulty WUR? Thoughts please peeps.

Sounds like metering head issues. Can't see the WUR would make a difference - you can unplug it to check though.

I'd check the plunger first, I can't see the WUR causing the problem but as Simon above has said you can unplug it.

Do you have any spare injectors to try just incase its the injectors at fault?

Well, not done anything on the Rocco for the last 10 months. Felt certain that I could get it running so forged ahead with changing the oil as it was contaminated with fuel. New plugs, amp, decent metering head, injectors cleaned ultrasonic ally, new seals, new fuel filter, cleaned out the fuel tank and strainer on the lift pump. Turned it over and......no start. Checked the fuel as it is sparking and timing is spot on and no fuel upto metering head now, grrrrrrrr.
Have just received a new tank lift pump and relay from gsf, anyone think of anything else at this stage?

How about the main fuel pump, under car car just in front of the OSR wheel? You haven't mentioned the fuel filter in the engine bay?

Hello mate, yeah new fuel filter fitted. Initial problem was that injectors were just injecting constantly which is why I changed the metering head. At the same time I pulled the lift pump out and found it caked in crud. Cleaned it all and put it back, coincidence, I hope this is the fault so will keep updated. Just want to get her done this year ready for her 30th next year

There is another fuel pump, the main one, is that working?

^ as above - there're 2 pumps... The cheap one in the tank, and the dear one in the rubber casing (and probably in a rusty bracket!) under the car...

Check voltage to that.

If there're no volts, whip the relay out, and bridge its position on the fusebox (to test the relay)

If it's still dead, you're looking at the pump or wiring
