Had this prob a week ago - had to get them made - apparently vw stoped doing them 2 years ago and gsf don't do them.

I recon vw heritage will have them though

Are they necessary? is it possible to just use normal bolts?

yes, they are. the holes are slotted and it's the off centre head that keeps things stationary.

other VWs have adjustable camber, do they use the same bolts under a different part number? worth a look if you can find an EPC anywhere...
