It varies between HV and AH - I think earlier cars tend to be HV with the later ones AH. Your VW dealer might be able to help you out (if they're not typically unhelpful) - I think VW Classic Parts also do an original key manufacturing service - they'd be able to provide the right key based on your VIN (assuming the locks haven't been changed at some point).

Thanks for the response, fallowed it through to vw classic parts and found part number c161 837 219 which is the HV profile, this looks to be the same for all mkII sciroccos. Going to get one orded now, love the original keys.

The dealers still sell the key blanks, and they are cheaper than the ones off Ebay!
I think I was quoted about 6 or 7 quid.

There's another way... get a pre-cut key, or even with a set of locks, and match your locks to it. By the time you do all this it'll cost you a fair few quid.

It's easy on all the locks I've done, just by taking the barrel out and swapping the tumblers around till they sit flush with the key in.

Or... I think I've got a set of Mk2 barrels, and ignition lock, with matching keys. Any good to you?

There are close ups of the profile on some of the ones on ebay... The differences are obvious -you'll quickly be able to see which you need.
