I bought this lovely car off Matt on here in janurary , sorry I haven't posted anything up sooner
Here's the car on the day I got it

As you can see the car was in good shape , Matt had done wonders getting it to this and I think if he didn't have to sell for the sd1 project he wouldn't of.
The best bit of the car for me is the interior ( thankyou Matt too for suppling me with a spare one)

I was a very happy man driving it home and had a massive smile on my face

First problem for me with the car was my knees hit the steering wheel , I loved the scirocco steering wheel but I needed something well smaller , luckily I had a spare steering wheel kicking about .......

I'm still not sure if this suits the car so there's a good chance I'll change it for a wooden one or one of these

For the next month drove and enjoyed the car , it performed well in rain , sun or snow
Image
Only really had one problem , one day the car wouldn't start so I called breakdown
Image
The battery some how had gone flat :( , anyway the recovery man power pack started the car and I was away again , I ended up chatting to the recovery guy for nearly a hour , it made his week coming to the car and he was saying he expected a rust bucket before he come !!!!!!!
I think the battery problem is down to the alarm so that will be sorted out

Next up was the fun part , when I first got the car I wasn't going to do anything anyway I kept looking at the car thinking I know what wheels I want but will they work ?????
I already had these borbets in my garage but decided they were too modern
Image
I also had recently bought these ones too I love these wheels but tbh they are just too small for the car ( impress how I got them in the boot!!!)
Image

Before I put the wheels on I needed to lower the car so ebays finest coilovers were needed ( £150 I picked these up for!!!!) anyway these were fitted
Image
The ride is hard but they will do until I can afford my preferred option !!
With the coilovers fitted time to pop the wheels one ....... We have a problem the backs fit fine but the fronts hit the spring :( , so for now the old wheels are popped back on

The Ronals only lasted on the car for a few days as I wanted my wheels of choice on !!!
I ordered spacers ready to fit them just one problem the car looked silly with the spacers and the wheels (15x8) so it was to be plan b!!!
Plan b was well take the helper springs out of the front coilovers as it was these fouling the wheel
Image
Image
With this done they fit!! So at last the wheels can go on :)
Image
Image
Image
All I needed to do now was to get car sitting right
Image
For me the front sat too high and the backs needed spacing more so I lowered the front a little( still thinking it needs a touch more ) . First I spaced the rears 10mm then 15mm :)
Image
Image
Image
This is where the car is now , may lower front later today as I'm off to elsecar tomorrow just depends on the rain today lol , hope you like what I've done with the car so far

Excellent work and progress report. :yahoo:
I think wheels are a very personal thing but I think your choice is really good.
They set the car off very well.
Keep the updates going.
:bye:

Not posted anything for a bit about the Rocco , I've generally been keeping the car clean . Had a little problem with the car the key snapped in drivers lock ( Matt promise to phone for your help sorry I've been rubbish :(. )
Image
Last weekend I got my bum in gear and did a couple of bits , while I was at inters there was a dent man , so I bit the bullet payed the money and let them work there magic
It had this and a few trolley dinks

Ended up like this :)

I also managed to change my steering wheel to a wooden one :ok:
Image
Image
Do like it but feels weird to drive with after the little momo
Had to mend my glove box to , the screws come off one of the hinges ( hard ride chief suspect :crying: )
Image
All mended
