Sorry if this has been asked before but i've tried looking. Is it possible/worthwile fitting vented discs in place of solid on a 1.6 GT without other mods or does it require calipers?
Thanks in advance for any advice
Steve

As far as I know, vented discs use the same calipers but different (thinner) pads. Someone may correct me though...

The above advice is correct... vented discs just pair with thinner pads.
Worthwhile? Do you find you fade the brakes at the moment? Then yes, fit vented.
If no fade, then I wouldn't consider it until the discs need replacing anyway.

They do fade a little with hard braking but feel big brake upgrade is not required so vented seemed like a sensible choice. Thanks for the advice and when the time comes to change the pads next I'll do discs whilst wheels off etc.

New brake fluid can also make alot of difference.
