strut braces

Hey all,

im looking for some upper strut braces for the mk2 rocco. already have a steel lower front and it made a huge difference, so i fancy doing the whole lot.

i know the mk1 golf items "fit", but the alloy version i bought does not actually fit under the bonnet - it also wont do anything for rigidity, but will look okay when fitted. its a very cheap/soft aluminium used.

alloy one that does NOT fit. good for show though

has anyone tried the mk1 gold OMP steel braces? they look a little shallower than the alloy one i tried, so they may fit. but i don't fancy wasting 70 quid to find out...

OMP versions

also, just seen these stainless jobbies. look like some nice braces there.

anywho, cheers for the help people. the alloy one i bought can be purchased if anyone would like it for show? only cost me 30 quid and i removed some material to fit the expansion tank so 15 quid collected if anyone wants it. best using it for a mk1 golf though, unless you have a raised bonnet.

cheers

I had OMP upper and lower braces on the front and they were great, unfortunately after putting an ABF in neither of them fitted anymore so i will be looking for something else. Couldnt recommend them highly enough

they cleared the bonnet nicely though? goodo, ill order a set now. 77 quid for the pair in black (front/rear) isn't too harsh :)

bit of a shame this alloy one doesnt clear the bonnet, as it does look good.

EDIT:

bought em anyways, will get pics up when fitted :)

ill fit trial the rear one tomorrow and take some pictures. be aware the car is being rebuilt and is currently a storage den too so it wont be pretty haha
