Slight site problem - probably my fault.
For some unknown reason my previous visits are not being recorded with the effect when I click on "view new posts" it is giving me loads and loads of posts many of which I have already read ????????
This has only started recently and the only way I can clear the pages of posts is to log out and back in again.
Anyone else having this problem or is it my computer ????????
When I did it this visit I had 44 new posts but I had read 36 of them before and my last visit was down as Friday but I had been on earlier today ????????
Have I accidentally switched something off or what ????????
very much appreciated.
Thank you.

Re: Slight site problem - probably my fault.
To be honest, I normally just go into each section and look at the threads in red, which are obviously the ones I've not read.
However, I just tried the option you're both referring to and it worked fine for me. I got straight back to the main board index page without any problems.

Re: Slight site problem - probably my fault.
Cpt,
Just back on since I posted this up and now I have 53 "new posts" when in fact I have only 17 new posts ??????
It is also telling me the last time I visited was Friday when in fact it was when I posted this question ( Mon Jan 30, 2012 2:27 ) ?????????
The only way it will clear the posts I have read is if I log out and back in again ???????
May try your method and see what that throws up.

Re: Slight site problem - probably my fault.
Thanks guys, thought it was just me.
Thought I had hit a button somewhere and changed a setting.
Still happening today when I logged on, found 20 new posts but it was actually only 8 ????????
I'll have another look at my settings.

I removed the sciroccoregisterforum.co.uk cookie, is it a good idea to remove all cookies ??????
I also access this page from a bookmark could the problem lie here.
I have changed the bookmark on several occasions without any problems.

Yep it is often a good idea to clear all cookies, but note that you will have to enter your user name and passwords for any websites that require it next time you visit them.Old Mac Rocco wrote:is it a good idea to remove all cookies[/u] ??????
