Dam Odometers....

Has anyone noticed their odometer stop working then begin working fine the next day?!

In my case I replaced the faulty old one with a working unit. Over the course of a 320 mile drive (without stops) the dash was warming up - presumably due to the heater being on, and this heat appears to have stopped the unit working after about 160 miles. Having recently replaced it I was, as you can imagine, not best pleased.

The next day however, once it had cooled down again all was well and it worked fine and is still working fine now a week later.

I have previously attempted the 'fix' listed somewhere on my previous unit, but this did not work. Anyone have any other idea what could have gone inside the thing?

It's a plastic gear on a spindle in the odometer number display dial mechanism, and it can slip. Glue it on, not hard to do

Yes, often !
A sharp flick flick of the re-set button sometimes starts it working again, but certainly not always.
Dead annoying.

Waiting to find a replacement Clock LCD before I take it all to bits to fix both in one hit.

Hmmm... I may attempt stripping down my other one then. I remember the walkthrough I found for the fix pointed out a red cog, but I couldnt find any problem with this.
