Sorry to stick this in general chat as its a bit of a mish of sections move it where you think is better if its wrong

As I've got the head off sorting the washer incident I am looking at ways to improve bhp for free. I have a piper cam ready to go in

So on top of this what have people done/suggest? so far I have the option of:

Shave the old heating element down?

Put a later golf 1.8GTI 6 bolt exhaust manifold on?

is there any other dodges/cheap fettles that people know of? Is been rolling roaded at 110bhp so I have a bench mark.

Current spec is a standard GTII with a weber conversion.

as they say in liverpool Ta la

There is a really good article on DIY head porting on CGTI, done by a guy called Mr hillclimber.. defo worth having a read.
I would also have a think about upping the compression slightly to make the most of your cam.
