Hey I just bought a gt2 and there's a couple of faults I was wondering if anyone can help.
First on is my Speedo isn't working well very rarely it does for a few seconds.
Second is my headlights are very intermittent can be driving along and my lights will just go out I've figured out it could be the ignition switch.

check the earth to the rocker cover and to the steering rack? (think im sure theres one on the steering rack) youll soon get told by a guru
also regards to the speedo.. check the cable is fully fitted to the gearbox? it should be fixed in with a small bolt (m10 or the like) if you can take it out to check the condition of the driving gear :)

Cable to the gearbox is fitted with a M7 bolt use spanner 11 to fasten or loosen is.
Do not try to put any other measure of bolt in, it will not fit.
The above is only if they have not messed up the thread already.
Bolt can be ordered by your local dealer, partnumber N 090 173 3 M7 x 1,25

And don't forget to check the cable is actually connected to the dash clocks!
As it's only a clip-on item it will work loose if not fitted properly - you'll need to remove the under dash trays etc to get access.

Check your lightswitch in the dash, this could be faulty as well.
When the switch gets older the dashlight brightness adjuster in the switch can start melting and cause lighting problems.

Headlights and heater not working at the same time will be the contacts in the ignition switch, the heated rear screen is also on the same circuit and will also stop working. Harder to check though. A new switch will fix this.
Reversing lights will be the switch on top of the gearbox, try taking it out and cleaning up the moving parts with some switch contact cleaner. Worked for me years ago.
Intermittant speedo could be either not clipped in at the instrument end or the plastic gear has come off in the gearbox end. You could try pulling the instruments out so you can see the end of the cable with a square drive in and drive the car a short distance. If the square drive turns then the gear at the other end is fine.
