CAPS LOCK STUCK?!!
To remove the switch, the manuals say you don't
need to remove the column but it is easier with the column out.
Basically you need to remove the shroud from the top of the lock housing and drill a 3mm wide hole (downwards) in a very specific spot - which then gives you access to a retaining spring. Press down on the spring with a pin and you can then slide the switch out.
Very difficult to describe - really needs a picture. If no-one pipes up with one, I'll scan it for you.
*there's a How-To on this very site for removing the whole thing
