Scirocco Register

I've noticed that my lighter doesn't seem deep enough to take modern accessories (namely my sat-nav and USB adaptor) seems about 1cm to shallow, and i dont get a constant connection

Is there another lighter that would look standard, but allow me to plug stuff in?

go to the scrappy and rob one out of a newer vw? or fit one of those multi-sockets under the dash out of sight
