An idea for rust spots

Hello all
Ive been getting annoyed by a small rust spot thats started to come through by my windscreen rubber surround.
Rather then start picking at rust scabs and trying to paint and prime it with a pen from halfords and most likely make it worse I came up with this idea.
Remember that glue from art lessons at school that smelt like fish? Well its called copydex and I brought some today!
It is a rubber/laxex glue, which when dries is almost clear. Cost me £5.
I have now applied it to my "scab" thinking that it will mimimise further damage becuase the area is now water proof and oxygen cant get to it.
Ill report back on this through the coming winter and when summer comes illhave the windscreen out and do a proper job on it!
As it is behind my windscreen wiper its barely noticable and will peel off when required.
