There's a place in Bromsgrove (south of Birmingham) called Bromsgrove Auto Trimmers - they do a lot of work on air-cooled VW interiors, but do plenty of other stuff as well. I've heard good things and I'm planning to take my mk2 Golf there to have the headlining sorted out. Here's the website:

They said mk2 Golfs are tricky because the headlining panel often breaks when it's removed and replacements aren't available from VW, so it becomes a matter of finding a decent replacement from a scrapper. I'm hoping mind will be ok because the car's spent nearly it's whole life being garaged.

Have a quick look on the brakes.

I have vectra callipers and mk2 golf 16V discs up front, mk2 gti discs on the rear. the work well with the G60 master cylinder. all bolt on. :good:
