Scirocco Register

Another problem my scirocco has, the gear selector isn't right, all the gears are to the far left of the sticks movement, 1st has to be selected by pushing it down as you would reverse, and I can't get reverse at all. How do I adjust this?

Sounds like you are some splines out between the selector rod and the relay shaft lever. You will need to twist the selector rod slightly.
There are some posts about this, if you do a search - and the Haynes manual gives the pretty good description of how to adjust the position.
