I'm getting someone to give me price on resprying my Mk1 Scirocco this weekend, its been in my parents garage to the last 9 years and I've had new inner and outer sills, new rear wheel arches fitted about 2 years ago. I've ground off the rust back to bare metal, its currenty got no doors or wings and I've got a second hand bonnet in a differnt colour. Im going to leave the engine in the car as thats been rebuilt and the engine bay is in good condition.

What I wish to know is what should I ask/tell the bloke when he comes to look at the car?

Any advice would be helpful.

I really want to drive the Scirocco other than up and down the drive!!

Agree a price and stick to it. Bodywork bills can spiral out of control if you do not agree a price. If the chap knows his onions he should be able to tell you what is achievable within your budget.

Apart from that, point out the requirements of what needs to be done, any trouble spots that you will be asking him to tackle and any specific requirements (such as welding up badge holes and suchlike).
