Mk1 Scirocco in Jarhead

Got around to watching Jarhead on DVD last night (good film)
Was amazed to see a mk1 Scirocco in it! fair enough its burnt out.. but...
If anyone is interested its immediatly before they climb the berm and find the highway of burnt out cars. :)

Theres one on a Ben & Jerrys advert currently showing on e4 i think...
I was sat there thinking it would be mad if this ad had a mk1 scirocco in it...low and behold!

Without wanting to sound like a total anorak!! A couple of years ago an artist was in a shortlist of about 5 to display on the empty plinth in trafalgar square. His 'work' was a red early scirocco, that was mangled and burnt, as it was from the convoy of car trucks and busses that was napalmedby the USAF in Iraq! ( caused a massive outrage at the time) He had it imported as it was supposed to represent something or other! I had a pic of it, ( it's my avatar on ed38)
So I guess at least the film was accurate!! Must see it now
