Can anyone tell me how to get the boot lock out of a mk1??

Also is it possible to remove the key barrel from the lock?

From memory remove the trim inside the boot, undo a single screw holding the lock to the tailgate and detach the rod from the lock, as far as im aware it is not possible to remove the barrel from the lock but i have never tried
