thermo switch on radiator

Hi
got a slight leak under the car and i is the lower hose from the rad, i will get a new one of these now
the only other thing is that on the thermo switch at the bottom of the rad it had a slight leak this week but has not done it again since, i went to tighten it today and the largest spanner i have is 24 does any one know what size this thermo switch is?
