Re: Introduce yourself
I'm new to this site and new to the VW lyfe. This is my first restore/project car so I'm going to need all of your help. I am now a proud owner of a 1984 Scirocco and I can't wait to get her looking amazing. Hello from America!

Re: Introduce yourself
Hello all, and thanks to Will for sorting my forum registration problems. My name is Stu and I have a 1988 GTX, which I've owned since 1993. I took it off the road in early 2005, but this year, I want to make it driveable again. Here it is in the car park at work, circa 2002:
I'm afraid I've neglected it in the last few years, but I hope it hasn't suffered too much...

Re: Introduce yourself
No, I have no current photos. I think I'd be embarrassed to post any... it's at my parents' house, under a cover, but it was exposed to the elements for a few years. I'll see if I can get over there at the weekend.

Re: Introduce yourself
Hi guys, I've been lurking about on here for the last couple of weeks and thought I should introduce myself. I'm Gav, I've owned a few old VW's but have never owned a Scirocco. I've recently bought a Mk2 GT2 that is lightly modified, plans are uncertain at the moment on if I should leave as is or go back to a more OEM look (G60 steels/amber indicators etc).
Here's a few pics
I hope to catch up with a few of you at some meets.

Re: Introduce yourself
Welcome GavB95, nice looking Scirocco you have.
I see from your list of cars you are also a Mk1 Golf cabriolet owner.

Re: Introduce yourself
Thanks mark1gls, I recognise your user name from over on the Mk1 Golf owners forum. I used to be a regular on there but haven't been as active recently as I've got more involved with improving my T3/T25... and now tinkering with the Scirocco!
Re: Introduce yourself
Hi all, ive just bought a scirocco gt 1988 to go with my mk1 cabby and no doubt will have many many questions about it. Such as what colour is it. Someone on the mk1 forum has just suggested rock grey?
It hadny had an mot in a few years but it almost flew through yesterday after being a bit grumpy about being driven.
Seems to be clearing up though as its used more.
Excuse the naff picture.
